A major Fire raged at Union Square in Cross Roads, Kingston early this morning.

It is understood that several properties were at risk, in the highly built-up area, as firefighters worked hard to contain the blaze.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade says six units were drawn from the Corporate Area to respond.

The police were also reportedly on the scene providing security to help to minimize risk.

A Fire Brigade spokesperson says they received a call about the blaze at 3:08 a.m.
